The Dive Leader is the highest level as a scuba diver and the “stepping stone” to becoming an instructor.

Training content

This training level i.a.c. Dive Leader authorizes you to dive with beginners. As a Dive Leader, you therefore already have a high level of responsibility and are a link between the instructor and diving students.

Theoretical training

• Repetition/deepening of all theoretical content from the i.a.c. Master Diver including the theoretical content of the specialties, navigation, dive group management, deep diving, advanced first aid and stress & rescue
• Diving regulations, e.g. limits of diving licenses, insurance for divers, liability
• Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver skills or equivalent
• Diving equipment
• Diving physics
• Diving medicine
• Diving practice:
• Diving and the environment

Practical training

with ABC equipment

• 60 seconds of time diving with a constant change of position (of about ten meters)
• 45-meter distance diving without or 40 meters with neoprene jacket and pants
• Ten meter deep diving in open water
• 60 minutes of time snorkeling covering a distance of at least 1,500 meters, including 15 minutes each in the breast, side and back position and with a fin
• 150 meters of snorkeling to a scuba diver lying at a depth of 7.5 meters, recovery of the scuba diver to the surface and 150 meters of transport to the surface, 50 meters each with different transport handles
• Attaching a line with a bowline to an object lying at a depth of five meters

with SCUBA equipment

• 5 dives between 10 and 40 meters deep in salt water and 20 to 30 meters deep in fresh water
