Tec Basic Instructor


The i.a.c. TEC Basic Instructor teaches the introduction to technical diving for recreational divers.

Training content

The i.a.c. TEC Basic Instructor teaches the introduction to technical diving for recreational divers. This instructor level forms the basis for all further TEC courses. The OC TEC Basic focuses primarily on precise buoyancy control and trim, fin stroke techniques, team awareness and controlled ascents with and without the use of a surface buoy. The basics of OC/Sidemount with defective equipment and loss of breathing gas are trained.

Qualification after course completion

  • Training and certification of TEC Basic students in the zero-time area
  • max. 30m diving depth during training

Prerequisites

At the start of the course:

  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Proof of health status
  • Proof of i.a.c. Open Water Instructor or comparable
  • Postgraduate certificate via i.a.c. Nitrox Instructor or comparable
  • Proof of i.a.c. TEC Basic or comparable
  • Proof of i.a.c. Nitrox Advanced or comparable
  • Valid instructor liability insurance
  • At least 150 logged dives, including at least 20 decompression dives
