Junior Open Water Diver

Training content

If you already have your i.a.c. Junior Diver or i.a.c. Junior Scuba Diver course, you are already an experienced junior diver and therefore in this i.a.c. Junior Open Water Diver course you will learn even more about the physical basics of diving, how to look after your diving equipment and how to behave correctly in a diving group.

Theoretical training

  • Describe the course of the dive
  • Basic principles of the laws of physics
  • Effects of pressure on the human body
  • Safety rules in the group & diving flags
  • Other dangers when diving

Practical training

  • ABC exercises
  • Repetition from the Junior Scuba Diver program
  • Know, prepare & check equipment
  • Protecting the regulator from dirt & damage
  • Clean, dry & care for equipment
  • Show consideration
  • Security within the group
  • Stay at the height of the trainer
  • Buddy check in 3m depth range
  • Informing the trainer about signs or problems
  • Snorkeling on the surface

Overview

Certification i.a.c. Junior Open Water Diver can be obtained at an i.a.c. DiveCenter as soon as the required minimum age of 15 years has been reached. DiveCenter to the Certification i.a.c. Open Water Diver at an i.a.c. DiveCenter. If there are more than twelve months between the last dive and the transfer, we recommend taking part in an i.a. c. Refresher.

Prerequisites

At the start of the course:

  • Minimum age 10 years
  • Proof of swimming ability
  • Proof of health status
  • For minors, a declaration of consent from a parent or legal guardian is required. The restrictions on children’s diving must be observed.
