Specialty Deep Diving

Here you will also learn how to dive safely at depth.

Training content

In the Deep Diving specialty, you will be taught the content of deep diving and underpinned by specific practical exercises. During the corresponding dives, you will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge under supervision and gain relevant deep diving experience.

Theoretical training

  • Risks associated with deep diving
  • Air, time and decompression calculation for deep diving according to table
  • Importance of ascent stops: deep stop, safety stop and decompression stop
  • Legal and technical requirements for deep diving
  • Recognizing and solving problems specific to deep diving, e.g. depth intoxication, (emergency) ascent from greater depths
  • Organization and safeguarding of dives

Practical training

  • 2 dives between 18m and max. 40m, depending on the diving water (see above), visibility and water temperature
  • Carrying out a briefing taking into account the special risks of deep diving
  • Diving with the dive computer and observing saturation and desaturation, “approaching” the no-decompression time
  • Timely and planned ascent, taking into account the different ascent speeds, including deep stop and safety stop
  • Debriefing

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 15 years old
  • Proof of Open Water Diver or comparable
  • Proof of health status
  • For minors, a declaration of consent from a parent or legal guardian is required
